Gallium nitride, or “GaN” for short, is increasingly being used for semiconductors in chargers.
The positive property of GaN is that it generates little heat. Low heat means that components can be installed closer together without compromising performance capacity and safety standards.
For this reason, GaN chargers can be made smaller than silicon chargers, for example.

In terms of heat generation and electrical conductivity, silicon is limited in the construction of the components or fixed to a minimum size.
